Eric is a Certified Financial Planner® practitioner with over 20 years of experience in accounting and finance. As Richard’s eldest son, Eric has adopted Richard’s dedication to tax smart investing. As a CFP® professional, Eric focuses on helping clients meet their life-long financial goals through careful planning and investment management. Eric is passionate about providing an in-depth, holistic understanding of each client’s financial situation.

Eric specializes in retirement planning, tax planning, investment planning and process development. With a distinct ability to see the big picture, yet observe every detail, Eric is passionate about partnering with clients to help them achieve their goals and cultivate success.

Eric joined Mitchen Wealth Management in 2009 and works diligently to provide clients with portfolio allocation and risk management advice. He is known for his presentations on retirement and goal planning which provide a comprehensive analysis of clients’ financial goals.

Eric was awarded the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) professional designation in 2021. The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. awards CFP® certification to individuals who meet the board's requirements for professionalism in financial services. To gain certification, a financial advisor must successfully complete coursework in the areas of investment, tax, retirement, estate, insurance, finance and education planning. They must also pass the CFP® Certification Examination and the CFP Board's fitness standards for candidates and registrants, agree to abide by the CFP Board's code of ethics and professional responsibility, and comply with financial planning practice standards.

Eric graduated from Belmont University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. Before working at Mitchen Wealth Management, he was an accountant at Amsurg, Inc in Nashville, Tennessee. Following Amsurg, he moved to Miami, Florida, to work as an accountant for Royal Caribbean Cruises.

Eric is also passionate about music, having studied music education and vocal performance as an undergraduate. On the weekends you may find him listening to music, leading worship at church, playing guitar, recording music, golfing, rock-climbing at the indoor climbing gym and woodworking. However, his favorite activity is spending time with his wife, Patricia, and twin daughters.
